Local automation and responsibility boundaries

Gros.farm operates on top of the local engineering control layer and does not replace it.

What the local system is responsible for

  • physical control of pumps, valves, ventilation, and other equipment;
  • local regulation;
  • emergency and protective scenarios;
  • safe operation if the cloud connection is lost.

What Gros.farm is responsible for

  • cultivation plans and stages;
  • target ranges and setpoints;
  • schedules and production context;
  • data collection and history;
  • analytics and comparison with the plan;
  • sending configuration to a supported local node.

If the internet connection is lost

Locally configured algorithms and protective scenarios should continue to operate. The cloud interface, synchronization, remote changes, and some analytics may be temporarily unavailable.

Connecting equipment

Compatibility depends on the control node, protocol, electrical diagram, and facility configuration. An engineering assessment is required before connection.

Do not bypass standard equipment protection or use cloud configuration as a replacement for local emergency automation.
