What is Gros.farm

It’s simple

A user-friendly interface and the ability to register in the app independently in just one day. The built-in assistant robot effectively helps manage the greenhouse: it informs you about deviations in indicators, notifies you about normalization, warns about upcoming bad weather, and even supports you morally. If irrigation, cooling, and other management systems are not connected, the app notifies you when it’s time to water or open windows. If management systems are connected, the robot automatically handles control and sends you the results to your smartphone.

Organizations recommending greenhouse automation

Agriculture needs technology for sustainable food production World Economic Forum  (weforum.org)

Automated greenhouse system using Agricultural Internet of Things to increase yields IET Conference Publication  IEEE Xplore

Development of smart farming methods IAEA  (iaea.org)

Why do we need this

According to forecasts, due to global warming, population growth, and the reduction of agricultural land, we face the challenge of providing everyone with enough food. To meet this challenge, greenhouse agriculture productivity must be increased by 200% by 2032 (from $32.3 billion to $78.42 billion). Implementing automation in greenhouses is one of the most effective ways to achieve this goal.

We have developed a solution that significantly reduces the cost of automation systems compared to other professional counterparts, while maintaining similar functionality and results compared to leading systems on the market. Additionally, our system is much easier to use and can be mastered by anyone in just one day. According to agronomists and farmers, it is a simple and convenient solution.

Technological Maps

Our main asset is our technological maps. Experts provide the data, so you don’t need to fill them out manually. It’s completely free for you. Currently, we have 846 maps for the most popular crops and varieties. These maps are added by experts or generated by AI using information from the Top 30 universities.

How it works?

1

The first step is to install the Gros.farm app. You register, choose crops and technological maps. This will take about 10 minutes.

2

The second step is the installation of equipment. We work with most brands of sensors and control systems. You can contact us for help in selecting an authorized partner for equipment installation or simply send our manual to your greenhouse builders. You can also install it yourself following the instructions. Typically, the installation of equipment takes only one day if all the necessary components are available.

3

The third step is connecting the sensors and control systems to Gros.farm. This is very easy to do within the app. Depending on the number of sensors, it will take no more than 1 day.

4

Once these steps are completed, the system will be fully operational to increase your yield and income.

Implementation Example

To understand how much investment is needed for the purchase and installation of sensors, we made an approximate cost calculation. The implementation example is presented for a 300 m² greenhouse.

View all implementation examples →
300 m²
Basic

The kit includes: 8 air temperature and humidity sensors, 5 soil temperature and humidity sensors, and 3 sensors to monitor water temperature, light intensity, and CO2 levels. This amount is sufficient for basic monitoring; however, for more precise control and analysis of all processes in the greenhouse, a larger number of sensors is required.

$290
300 m²
Optimal

The kit includes: 10 air temperature and humidity sensors, 7 soil temperature and humidity sensors, and 3 sensors to monitor water temperature, light intensity, and CO2 levels. This is the optimal amount for comprehensive monitoring and control of all processes in your greenhouse of this size. You will also be able to optimize growing conditions and increase the yield of your greenhouse.

$380
300 m²
Advanced

The kit includes: 14 air temperature and humidity sensors, 9 soil temperature and humidity sensors, and 4 sensors to monitor water temperature, light intensity, and CO2 levels. This number of sensors provides complete monitoring of all parameters in the greenhouse, allowing for maximum precise control over the quality and quantity of the harvest.

Frequently Asked Questions

What indicators are supported?

Currently, we support a wide range of key indicators necessary for significantly improving efficiency: air temperature, air humidity, soil moisture, light level (lx) on leaves, photosynthetically active radiation (PPFD), water temperature, nutrient solution temperature, CO2 concentration (in ppm), and soil pH. We are also open to adding other indicators upon your request.

What is a technological map?

A technological map is a growing plan that displays stages with guidelines on what to do at each stage of the map, what to fertilize with, and what to monitor. It also shows which indicators to maintain and how to manage them. We have digitized these maps and made it so they can be shared, improved, read, used, bought, and thus significantly impact yield increase.

Why is it so cheap?

Automation and robotization of processes allow us to offer very profitable rates even for the smallest farmers. We actively use IT technologies that reduce the cost of implementation and system operation. Affordable sensors available on marketplaces make automation very budget-friendly.

If I have poor internet in the greenhouse, will it work? Or if there is no internet at all?

Lack of internet is a known problem for smart agriculture, thus the solution has already been found - 3G modems that use cellular connection and work as routers. However, if possible, it is better to ensure wired internet or Wi-Fi.

How much does full turnkey automation cost?

It is difficult to say unequivocally, but we will help you calculate the necessary number of devices for automation based on the parameters of your greenhouse. And if you need to upgrade the greenhouse, we will recommend reliable partners.

How long does full deployment take?

Starting to use our app is easy: just download it, register, and you can immediately receive all the necessary information about the cultivation plans of the selected crops. This process will take you only 10-15 minutes. However, installing and setting up sensors and control systems will take more time and will depend on the installation method you choose. First, you will need to order sensors and control systems, and then install them. This process generally takes no more than 2 weeks, including the time needed for delivery and installation. Overall, the installation can be completed within 1-2 days.

How much do farms save on average from automation?

It is important to note that the question is not about savings, but about increasing efficiency. In our experience, the average farm can increase yield by up to 60% by adhering to the recommended growing conditions. But everything is individual, and if you check and adjust the climate in the greenhouse every 10 minutes, everything will be fine for you anyway, and to relieve you of this work, we transfer these tasks to automation.

Where do you get the technological maps?

Our basic technological maps are compiled with the help of artificial intelligence using the developments of the best Russian and foreign agricultural universities. But we also have technological maps from recognized experts in certain crops - they upload them to share their growing experience.

Where is the data stored? Is it secure?

Data is stored on Yandex cloud servers in Russia. Our users’ data is well protected. We comply with all data protection laws, including the Russian "Personal Data Law", GDPR, and LGPD.

Can I not be in the greenhouse?

Yes, of course, the system collects data from sensors, monitors the indicators specified in the selected technological map, and can automatically manage tasks, such as turning on irrigation, opening vents, turning on heating, and even CO2, as well as other connected control systems.

Is it hard to understand the system?

It is definitely easy! In the app, you go step by step, we have made great efforts to make it very simple because it is the simplification of the interface that allows us to significantly reduce the costs of people who usually spend resources on implementation and management in large complex professional solutions. The simplicity of registration, sensor implementation, and management allows us to offer such cheap solutions. Try it yourself, it won’t take much time and it’s free.

Can you help me if I don’t understand something?

We would be happy to answer any questions. Please write to us if you have any questions or comments. Your opinion is very important to us as we strive to make our service as convenient as possible for every user.

Can I export raw data to view on a computer?

Yes, when you have data from the sensor indicators, you can export it in Excel format without limitations.

Can I buy, install, and configure everything myself?

Yes, it’s very simple, register with your email, and you will receive instructions on how to install the sensors by yourself.
